The exhibition aims to communicate the Three Marks of Existence in Buddhism, referring to three characteristics: impermanence, suffering, and not-self, which are intrinsic to all living beings. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great is revered for embodying these principles, demonstrating a deep understanding of the transient nature of life and the wisdom of non-attachment and encouraging us to render ourselves purposeful in the opportunity of existence, as exemplified through His life’s work.

The sculptures in the “Three Marks of Existence” zone are lifelike representations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, depicting various stages of his life. They are slightly larger than life-size. Their pedestals are lower than those typically used for royal monuments, evoking a sense of approachability and connection, mirroring His Majesty’s closeness to His people throughout His reign. By highlighting His personal attributes—such as intellectual curiosities, affections, maturation, inherent temperament, and physical vitality—we are reminded of His fundamentally human essence. Yet, what truly distinguished Him is the extraordinary dedication to His royal duties spanning over seven decades as the country's monarch. He was an exemplar of how individuals, despite their ordinary nature, can transform their existence into a conduit of meaningful service for both themselves and others during the fleeting moments of our existence.
