The Path of Wisdom
The Path of Wisdom is an arched gateway welcoming visitors to the museum. This zone also exhibits the “Monument of Memory” by Prof. Emeritus Khemrat Kongsuk, National Artist in Visual Arts (Sculpture).
The Path of Wisdom, the main entrance gateway to the museum, serving as the reception area for visitors, simulates the atmosphere of passing through the gates of the Royal Palace. Covering the walkway is a Thai-style glass archway designed with traditional textile patterns from all four regions of Thailand (North, Central, Northeastern, and Southern), reimagined and printed onto glass. To the side of the archway is the “Monument of Memory,” a sculpture by Prof. Emeritus Khemrat Kongsuk, 2012 National Artist in Visual Arts (Sculpture). The sculpture was created in 1995 and won the Gold Medal for Sculpture at the 41st National Exhibition of Art. Created in the form of a pagoda, a symbolic shape that embodies profound meanings of respect, veneration, and sanctity, the sculpture represents tranquility, steadfastness, gentleness, and beauty, evoking profound emotional resonance, to pay homage to the immense graciousness of King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great towards the Thai people and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
