Background

The Museum of Wisdom “A Legacy of Chakri Naruebodindra,” established in honor and remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and His contributions towards the Thai people and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, is located in the Community Hall, Archive, and Museum within Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute (CNMI), Bang Pla subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan. The main building is designed as an inclined quadrilateral, distilled from a heart symbol, conveying the significance of being a learning center and source of inspiration for personnel, students, patients, their families, and people from all walks of life. The museum was inspired by the royal benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, who graciously ruled with the Ten Kingly Virtues, and whose compassion, dedication, sacrifice made him a true "giver" in every sense of the word. Over 7 decades where He reigned with unrelenting industriousness in His royal duties yielded more than 4,000 projects stemming from His royal initiatives and the Sufficiency Economy philosophy that have helped elevate the people's quality of life, providing stable careers and sustainable self-reliance. He was also an exemplary lifelong learner, with remarkable genius evident in numerous fields such as music, sports, arts, religion, engineering, and agriculture—all contributing to the well-being of the people. Honored as "the Great," He was not simply a monarch of the Thai people, but was also acclaimed as the "King of Kings.” His Majesty King Bhumibol was an inspiration and role model for people from all walks of life, guiding them in both their personal and professional endeavors, ultimately benefiting both the individual and society as a whole.
